VicSRC Congress 2019

From 9-11 July, three of our senior students participated in the VicSRC Congress 2019 at the University of Melbourne. Attended by Rumaan Baryalai (Year 11), Muhammad Khan (Year 11) and Zakariya Hasan (Year 10), Br Rashdan (Head of Campus) and Br Raihan (Wellbeing Specialist), the Congress is a student-led and student-focussed conference which brings together Victorian secondary students. For three days, participants discussed systemic issues and brainstormed innovative ways to tackle them... together.

On Thursday the team observed students pitch their proposed action plans in front of the Parliamentary Secretary of Schooling, Mr Tim Richardson and the rest of the student delegates. The ideas become central to VicSRC’s advocacy work as they take them to the Minister for Education and work with him on implementation. Congratulations to our students for their participation and inspiring leadership during the congress.
