Located at 36-38 Lewis Street in Springvale, Springvale Campus was purchased on 21 December 1994 and commenced in February 1995. Formerly the site of Whiteside Primary School, the one single story building was renovated to create classrooms, a prayer hall and an office. The campus was established after significant contributions from parents, businesses and volunteers from the local Islamic community. This collaborative and community spirit was key to establishing both the physical campus and the resulting College community.

To support growing enrolments across the years, the Campus has continued to expand, purchasing surrounding properties and building new facilities. Despite its growth, the Campus remains true to the spirit of those early years – culturally diverse yet bonded by our common faith and shared community.

Opened in 2009, Officer Campus is the second campus for Minaret College. Surrounded by open paddocks (and kangaroos), the initial classroom for twelve students was established within the farmhouse (now used as the Early Learning Centre). A lot has changed in almost 15 years. The bustling campus is now surrounded by housing estates, making it an easily accessible campus for families in the outer South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

While plenty of change has already occurred, there are even more changes on the horizon for Officer Campus. Testament to quality education outcomes and nurturing atmosphere, our master plan continues to evolve in order to meet the enrolment demands of the local Muslim community. In the coming years we will continue to see more state-of-the-art facilities added so that our students can flourish academically, physically, religiously and socially.

Doveton Campus is the newest of our three campuses and opened for students at the start of 2021. The campus is a smaller, homely campus and is dedicated to primary students. Doveton Campus services the growing number of local Muslim families and allows them to join our Minaret Family without travelling far from home.

Despite being a new campus, Doveton students benefit from the expertise and care of some of our most experienced team members. The Doveton teaching team has a nurturing approach and are working hard to ensure Doveton Campus is established consistent with the needs and expectations of our community.

Our Facilities

Minaret College offers a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities that enhance the learning experience for students. These facilities, from spaces for sports and physical activity to advanced technology resources, play a crucial role in providing a dynamic and enriching educational environment that aligns with the school’s overall approach to learning.

Committed to Ensuring Wellbeing
The Minaret College wellbeing services model is comprehensive in scope, preventive in design, and developmental in nature. Each school includes staff who draw on their own knowledge as well as the expertise of others, to meet the social and developmental needs of our students.
Programs are developed based on the age and developmental stage of each year level and include eSafety, career exploration, anti-bullying and programs to explore personal values and build resilience. Programs are often proactive however targeted interventions are also developed to address current-day topics impacting young people. The College ensures all programs are aligned to our Islamic values and teaching.
Throughout their time at Minaret College, students participate in various workshops and leadership programs to enhance their social skills and emotional intelligence. More specialised services are also available including student counselling and special needs.

Student Counselling

Students who require additional support have access to a school counsellor. Counsellors work with students individually and offer targeted interventions to support students through an obstacle or challenge they are facing.

Counsellors work with students to build specific skills and thus ensure students continue to be motivated, socially connected and ready to learn. Counsellors provide an additional ‘safe space’ for students to seek help and support.

Special Needs

At Minaret College, the Special Needs Department provides a responsive and supportive environment which values and encourages participation of students with disabilities.

When required, our Special Needs team may assess a student to understand what interventions or adjustments may be required for a student to best learn. They also review recommendations from external specialists and provide recommendations and training to teachers so that the unique needs of each student are catered for as they learn in the classroom with their peers. Individual support plans are put in place so that the student, parents and teachers are clear on each student’s learning goals.

Founded in 1992 with the aim of providing a setting for generations of Muslim Australians to grow up knowledgeable in their faith and secure in their identity.
