Students and Family Support Services

The Students and Family Support Services department (SFSS) provides students with counselling, career exploration and guidance, special needs services that include speech therapy, support for both severe language disorder and intellectual disability in a positive and supportive school environment. Our department also includes SRC and students’ leadership programs. Our support approach is comprehensive in scope, preventive in design, and developmental in nature.

Minaret College promotes the practice of Islamic principles that focus on respect, kindness and generosity. The college values also focus on rights and responsibilities, routines, rituals, rules, benefits and consequences for conduct. The goal of SFSS is to empower and enable students to manage their behaviour, their relationships and their learning. The Students and Family Support Services department offers four levels of support as follows: (1) Primary prevention; (2) Early intervention; (3) Intervention and (4) Restoring well-being to all our students at both Springvale and Officer Campuses.
