About Islam

Islam simply means to achieve peace - peace with God, peace with oneself, and peace with the creations of God, including the environment - by wholly submitting to His will and accepting His guidance.

Islam is not a new faith. Muslims believe that it is the same truth that God revealed through all His prophets to all people.  For more than a fifth of the world's population, Islam is not just a personal religion, but a complete way of life.  Muslims come from all races, nationalities and cultures across the globe. They have varied languages, food, dress, and customs, however; Islamic practices unify them. They all have to pray, fast, give charity and perform hajj (provided they can afford financially / physically) as defined by Allah (SWT) and his prophet.

There might be minor and negligible differences in some areas of some practices, however; the core principles and practices do not change. For example;  women’s hijab is a requirement but how it is done re- colours, style etc. is up to the individual, as long as the woman is fully covered in non-tight and revealing clothes except for her face and hands.
